Future Food Group has developed its own brand. It now markets an extensive line of meat alternatives under the name PLNT. Products that are good for both people and our planet. The meat alternatives from PLNT are accessible to everyone, based on the vision of making meat alternatives tasty, sustainable and affordable. Products vary from vegetarian chicken strips to vegan lunch meat and are available in both bulk and unit packs.
PLNT‘s slogan is: Good for today, best for tomorrow. The need for meat alternatives is growing, but most products are not yet accessible or attractive to the masses. PLNT is for everyone, every consumer at any time. By focusing on “healthy and tasty” and “responsible and affordable”, PLNT aims to ensure that every consumer can enjoy the here and now, while focussing on what is important for future generations and our planet.
Butchers in product development
Future Food Group believes that if we want to take real steps towards making consumption more sustainable, meat eaters should be involved and convinced. This is only possible by offering them really tasty alternatives. Jos Havekotte, Innovation Manager at Future Food Group; “Meat eaters are our target group. Very experienced butchers are involved in the development of our plant-based products. They know exactly what a meat eater expects and likes. If butchers are convinced, we know we have a good alternative.”
Sustainable products
PLNT innovates and produces based on what the planet has to offer and with attention to our earth. PLNT’s ingredients come from European soil and are processed into affordable and tasty products. Production takes place in the Netherlands.
PLNT has a wide range of products which will be further expanded in the future. PLNT has different product categories, namely:
- Vegan lunch meat (including plant-based mortadella, ham and chicken fillet)
- Crispy bites (bread crumbed meat alternatives such as schnitzel and nuggets)
- Season specialties (think vegetable smoked sausage and spare ribs)
- The perfect base (including “minced meat”, “beef strips”, “chicken strips”)
- True classics (such as pulled burger, meat ball and bratwurst, just plant-based)
- Richly stuffed with vegetables (eg Quinoa Burger, Tomato Burger)
- Golden pride (such as plant-based cheese schnitzel and Cordon Blue)
Packaging
The PLNT packaging line is immediately noticeable in the retail landscape due to its minimalist and colourful style. For example, each category mentioned above has its own colour. The packaging is partly transparent, allowing the product to stand out clearly and consumers to see what they are buying. The material use of the packaging is also suitable for future-proof positioning. Future Food Group is aware of our joint responsibility for the environment and is therefore constantly looking for innovative ways to further expand the use of sustainable packaging.
PLNT products are offered to retail under its own brand, but can also be supplied as a private label. PLNT is also available for the Foodservice.
